Ecotricity is the only energy company in the world certified as vegan by both the Vegan Society and Viva!, the vegan charity. We work with lots of different organisations whose values align with ours – and one of those is Vegan Camp Out.

Read on for an overview of this year’s festival from Lucy, our Social Media Executive.

We had an incredible experience at Vegan Camp Out 2024, the world's largest vegan camping festival. It really was a vibrant celebration of sustainable living and vegan lifestyles, bringing together a community committed to forward-thinking environmental action.

We were thrilled to be the Headline Sponsors and want to thank everyone who attended our talks and visited our stand. Your enthusiasm and commitment to a greener future was truly inspiring and we can’t do what we do without you all!

Inspiring Sessions and Talks

One of the highlights of our weekend was the lineup of engaging talks and activities we had planned. It was wonderful to see so many attendees eager to learn more about sustainable living and vegan renewable energy!

Molly Collinson

Molly Collinson, Vegan Chef and Performance Coach, owns Rise, which is a plant kitchen and movement studio. She gave an insightful talk on the Education Stage discussing all things physical energy, sleep, wellness, and fitness.

Molly's passion for veganism and her practical tips on incorporating sustainable practices into daily life resonated well with the audience. Her talk was both educational and motivating, emphasising the impact that our choices have on our personal energy stores.

Politics, Plant-Based Living and Book Signing with Dale Vince

Dale Vince

Our founder, Dale Vince OBE, held an inspiring session where he shared his vision for a greener future. His talk, “How can politics play a role in a plant-based future?” took place on Sunday evening and attracted a large audience eager to hear what he had to say. During the session, Dale not only discussed the themes of his book, Manifesto, which explores how we can build a green, sustainable, and equitable world, but also engaged with the audience in a lively Q&A session.

One memorable moment came when a young Forest Green Rovers fan asked, "Does FGR use your electricity from Ecotricity?" Dale proudly replied, "Yes, we do! We have electricity from the wind and the sun. We also have solar panels at Forest Green Rovers, too. We've even got a little robot that's solar powered that mows the pitch for us."

The support for Dale and his book was overwhelming, with a large turnout for the book signing that followed his talk. It was heartening to see so many people committed to making a difference and eager to learn more about the vital intersection of politics, sustainability, and renewable energy.

Energising Activities

Morning Energise Classes with Molly Collinson

Each morning, Molly led energising classes which were the perfect way to start the day. These sessions provided an opportunity for festival attendees to experience the benefits of fitness and movement in a supportive and energetic environment, and we definitely left feeling refreshed and motivated, ready to embrace the day's activities.

Kids Activities with the Ministry of Eco Education

The Ministry of Eco Education (MEE), one of our partners and fellow member of the Green Britain Group, hosted an engaging kids' session in the family tent.

Children were invited to explore different plant milks such as soya, oat, almond and more. The session encouraged the kids to try each milk and then share their favourites on a huge tally board, making the experience interactive and fun. Alongside the tasting, the MEE guided the children through the environmental impact of each milk, highlighting facts such as how oat milk produces just 0.9kg of greenhouse gas emissions per litre compared to dairy milk's 3.15kg. This educational activity helped the kids understand the significance of their choices and the positive impact of plant-based alternatives on the environment.

Connecting for a Greener Future

One of the highlights of the weekend was talking to so many of you at our stand about switching to Ecotricity. We had some great chats about the importance of reducing our carbon footprint and the role that green energy plays in achieving a sustainable future.
