Investors in the Environment

We’re delighted to partner with Investors in the Environment (iiE), who work to create meaningful environmental action in businesses across the UK. Just like Ecotricity, iiE is committed to getting out there and taking practical action to fight the climate crisis, helping organisations to start improving right away.

The environmental charity, PECT, created Investors in the Environment in 2010 to help organisations across the UK reduce their impact on the environment, save money and time, and get promoted for their green credentials. Since then, iiE have worked with hundreds of organisations through consultancy and accreditation, supporting them to make a positive impact on the planet.

Support and accreditation

Through the iiE eco-accreditation programme, organisations of any size from any sector gain access to expert support and a range of invaluable resources to enable them to put sustainability at the heart of their business.

Member organisations are audited against a stringent set of criteria, which start with adopting an Environmental Policy and developing an Environmental Management System to help them meet their green targets around climate, boosting nature, and preventing waste and pollution.

The importance of deep green energy

Switching to Ecotricity’s 100% green electricity and carbon neutral gas is one of the best ways in which any organisation can reduce their impact on the environment. We don’t have shareholders or pay dividends – instead, we invest our profits into building new sources of green energy.

Our partnership with Investors in the Environment is helping to pave the way to a better, cleaner future for organisations of all shapes and sizes, as well as the planet itself.

Climate Clock

The Climate Clock is a version of the Doomsday clock that has been running since 1947 - this tracks the risk of global man-made disaster, through man made technology (like nuclear weapons) - displaying the minutes and seconds left before midnight, when disaster strikes. The climate crisis is a small part of the calculations made.
The climate clock uses a similar approach, but, focuses only on the climate crisis - which is the biggest and most urgent existential threat we face.
"The Climate Clock is a countdown to the biggest man-made disaster we face - but also a measure by which we can track our progress - moving from fossil to renewable energy. It shows we have no time to lose - the clock is ticking…" Dale Vince, OBE.
