We’re proud to reveal that we’ve been named a Which? Eco Provider for the fifth year running.
The Which? Eco Provider endorsement is given to energy suppliers who make the greatest positive impact in generating renewable electricity, building new sources of green energy and helping the transition away from fossil fuels.
Ecotricity has been a Which? Eco Provider ever since 2021, when Which? first decided it was important for consumers to understand what companies are really doing behind the scenes to increase renewable energy in the UK.
What is a Which? Eco Provider?
Every year, Which?, the UK’s consumer champion, analyses the green credentials of energy companies who provide renewable electricity and gas. The tests are rigorous but fair and highlight greenwashing by companies who aren’t as green as their advertising might lead you to think.
Being named a Which? Eco Provider is a huge achievement – we're thrilled to be recognised again for the work we’re doing to build a greener Britain.
Why is Ecotricity a Which? Eco Provider
Ecotricity was the world’s first green energy company. We built out first windmill 30 years ago, and today we have 74 windmills across 24 wind parks, as well as four sun parks and one green gasmill. But we’re not done yet – just take a look at what we’ve done over the past year.
“Which? research shows some energy firms are doing much more than others when it comes to sustainability - with the top-ranked providers leading the way in areas like generating renewable power and helping customers cut their greenhouse gas emissions.” - Emily Seymour, Which? Energy Editor
