Bambers II Wind Park, Lincolnshire

NEW TURBINES COMPLETED

We're delighted to announce that as of Thursday 9th November 2006 all six of our new wind turbines are now generating clean, green energy in to the local grid. And will be for the next 30 years, fingers crossed.

It's another great achievement and another step forward in reducing carbon emissions from conventional energy sources by building new sources of renewable energy. It’s not easy putting together 65 metre high turbines, often in driving rain and high winds (well, we’re building them there for a reason), put five weeks after starting on the first turbine the project is now fully operational.

You can see how the turbines were put up, from the foundations to generation, by clicking on our photo gallery of the project below.

More about the project

Our plans for 6 turbines were approved on 8th September 2005 by the East Lindsey Council. With 10 existing turbines in operation, the overwhelming support of the local population is real evidence of our 'Good Neighbour Policy' in action. Equally impressive, the East Lindsey Council backed the application by 12-5.

We’d like to thank everyone in the local community who supported the plan. We’d also like to congratulate the local council for doing something great in the fight against climate change. Their approval signals a turning point in attitudes to wind power.

Now the extension is complete the Mablethorpe wind parks will provide enough clean, green electricity to power almost 10,000 local homes. That’s an amazing 18% of all homes in the area, which goes way beyond Lincolnshire’s own target to provide 10% of its power from renewable sources by 2010. And your home could be one of them.

The existing 10 turbines on the site were built in 2 phases - Mablethorpe wind park and Bambers Farm.
