Ecotricity offer two energy tariffs – New Energy and New Energy Plus
With both of our energy tariffs you have the satisfaction of knowing that the green energy we generate was built because of you. You can sign up online for both of these tariffs.
| New Energy
New Energy provides a proportion of green electricity from the wind turbines we build and, as we build more each year, that proportion goes up. This year roughly 26% of our total supply will be generated from our own turbines. The balance of the energy comes from conventional sources, and every year that proportion goes down. By building as much new renewable generation as we can New Energy addresses the urgent need to increase green energy generation in the UK.

| And we also match the standard price of each regional supplier for conventional energy, so you shouldn’t have to pay a penny more. Perhaps that’s the reason New Energy is the UK’s fastest growing green tariff. |

| New Energy Plus
New Energy Plus offers exactly the same commitment to new build as New Energy does, but we top up the new green supply each year with Old Green (existing hydro, wind and solar that has been around for several years, if not decades). |
It’s a 100% green tariff, but because Old Green is a scarce resource there is a premium of about 5% per year over New Energy.
