Business Development Assistant

Working within the Merchant Wind Power team, the role will focus on the preparation and response to tenders and proposals for the public and private sector, handling of incoming enquiries, proactive marketing campaigns, contract management, and inter-group reporting.

The Merchant Wind Power department provides an innovative and market leading route for partner organisations to benefit from on-site renewable energy. A wind turbine on a client’s land provides clean power at reduced rates, saving money, CO2 and enhancing the client’s profile.

Ideally you will have experience in dealing with tender documentation and you will be commercially aware. Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisation skills as well as being self motivated and adaptable.

Billing Administrator

An opening has occurred within the Customer Support Processing Team to help to ensure all customers are billed accurately in a timely manner. The Customer Support Processing Team handles all the billing functions for Ecotricity’s Retail Operation. This includes billing both domestic and commercial customers and billing query management.

The successful candidate will require a good level of numeracy, accuracy and problem solving ability. Experience in a similar environment would be desirable.

Contact Support Assistant

Due to the reorganization of our structure, because of the rapid expansion of our business, we are looking to recruit a Resolutions assistant.

This post is to work within the Front Office function, managing our workflow system. It is a highly challenging role but very rewarding and you will be part of the UK’s largest green energy supplier.

We offer an attractive salary package with benefits to the right candidate. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday 08:30 – 19:00. Full training will be given to ensure that you are able to carry out your duties to the high level of service that we offer our customers. The Welcome team is part of our Customer Contact Centre function, the front line of our business.

Domestic Live credit Controller

Due to the restructuring of our Front Office, we have an opportunity for a Domestic Live Credit Controller.

You will need to have experience in domestic and business collections.
You will be required to make and take phone calls to/from a wide range of customers who are behind in payments. While on the phone, you will negotiate and agree with the customer to bring their account up to date or agree a suitable payment arrangement.

It's really important that you are good at building relationships with people, have excellent communication skills and respect confidentiality. You must also have a "can do" attitude and given the nature of the role you will need to be comfortable being assertive with customers without being aggressive.

This is a great team environment to work in with lots of ongoing support. You will ideally have Customer Service experience and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

It is a highly challenging role but very rewarding for the right candidate and you will be part of the UK’s largest green energy provider.

We offer an attractive salary package with benefits to the right candidate. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday 08:30 – 19:00 and Saturday 09:00 – 13:00. You may be required to work on a rotational shift pattern which is based on a 4 week rolling rota.

Logger and Sensor Support Engineer

Following an organisational review of our wind monitoring business, Nexgen, we have an opportunity for a logger and sensor support engineer.

Critical responsibilities of this position will be to prepare loggers and sensors for sale, to conduct or arrange the installation, maintenance, repairs and decommissioning of masts and equipment at customer locations and also to be the first contact point for customer technical support on sensors and loggers in the field and to administer the product returns system.

Ideally you will have experience in an electronics or telecoms environment in a semi-technical role and have strong written and verbal communication skills as well as an ability to work in a physically demanding position. The role will include travelling to customer sites so a full driving liscence is essential, there may also be occasional overnight stays.

Purchasing and Standards Manager

Following an organisational review of our wind monitoring business, Nexgen, we have an opportunity for a Purchasing and Standards Manager.

Prime responsibilities of the position will be to optimise stock availability and to maintain our conformance with accepted business standards like ISO9000 and HSE. It is a highly challenging role in a dynamic environment, but very rewarding for the right candidate.

Ideally you will have experience in Purchasing in an engineering environment and have a solid understanding of standards systems. Experience with Sage and Bills of Materials would be a real benefit.

It goes without saying that you will be a great communicator, assertive, with an eye for detail and a passion for making improvements.

Project Manager

You will have project management expertise, a detailed knowledge of the EIA regulations, procedures and excellent negotiation skills. You will be able to understand and communicate complex issues effectively and be a highly motivated problem solver. Experience of developing wind energy projects is desirable, but not essential.

Marketing Executive - Partnerships

This role will focus on the development and maintenance of partner relationships and the management and delivery of partner marketing programmes. This is a core sales channel for Ecotricity and the mission is to build traffic and sales from existing partnership arrangements and the creation of new partner relationships.

The successful candidates will therefore need to possess good relationship marketing and account handling skills as well as an ability to produce and deliver joint marketing activity. They will also need good administrative skills and will be required to provide quarterly performance and financial reports – for all partners. They will need to work to tight deadlines and manage budgets and invoices. They will need to be familiar with online marketing plus an ability to write copy and work on a Mac. The role will also include email marketing and direct marketing, promotions, incentives and print. They will need a good understanding of the Ecotricity proposition and an ability to encourage partners to support our plans and programmes.

There is also an important role in communicating activity internally in particularly to the Customer Service team the position will have sales targets to achieve and will report to the new Marketing Communications manager.

Marketing Manager

This role will focus on the management and delivery of marketing communications for ecotricity retail – including Brand activity, customer marketing (existing customers) and sales acquisition. The role will provide marketing support for all sales channels.

The successful candidate will be required to provide quarterly marketing programmes and implementation plans – they will be responsible for managing suppliers – agencies and other support services (though not PR).

They will be required to manage the marketing budget of around £500k and provide expenditure plans and forecasts. They will be responsible for the production of marketing materials including literature – advertising and electronic communication- and they will help co ordinate the delivery of online and email campaigns to customers and for sales.

The role requires a close working relationship with the customer service and sales teams and they will be required to keep them aware of marketing programmes and initiatives.

All brand implementation activity will go through this person – they will also manage the new Marketing Executive - Partnerships

Web front-end developer

We are looking to hire an experienced front-end web developer who will create interfaces, interface elements and supporting materials for cutting-edge web based applications with a focus on ease of use, cross-browser support and professional presentation. You will be focusing on all design stages from graphical concepts through to navigational/interface structures through to development of the front end interface code. The work is challenging, creative, fast paced and intellectually stimulating. Strong analytical skills, unwavering commitment to quality, collaborative work ethic and cutting edge skills are best fit.

About You

You will have:

  • Graduate degree preferably in web technology, web design, computer science or relevant field.
  • Demonstrable experience in website and web application development.
  • Experience of developing web applications or functional websites with a strong focus on the usability and functionality of web application design.
  • Expert understanding of and extensive experience in HTML, XHTML and CSS. An understanding of JavaScript & AJAX would be advantageous.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; confident, friendly, with good presentation skills as you will be working closely with internal clients and colleagues. This should include experience of creating wire-frames.
  • Strong problem solving skills, adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership.
  • Expert understanding of W3C web standards including an understanding of accessibility and its issues with regards to web development
  • Proficient in the use of Photoshop to create visuals and experience of slicing and optimising images.
  • Experience of using Content Management systems
  • The ability to integrate HTML with templating frameworks such as Smarty Templates
  • A good understanding of IDEs used to produce web applications and sites
  • A good understanding of source control (e.g. CVS), collaborative tools (e.g. Basecamp), bug tracking (e.g. Bugzilla), etc.
  • A good understanding of SEO opportunities in front-end development

Project Manager - Wind Farm Construction

Ecotricity were the first ‘green’ electricity company in the world, we pioneered the concept of making green electricity available to homes and businesses back in 1995. Ecotricity continues to innovate and lead the way in green electricity retail and wind turbine development.

Many of our projects rank as significant UK "firsts" in wind energy and all of them are examples of the good neighbour policy, being a marriage of good design, good technology and committed ownership.

Projects scheduled for construction in 2007 will see Ecotricity’s wind capacity double to 57MW.

We are looking for an enthusiastic project manager to join our team and help us to manage our this ambitious build programme.

Based out of Great Yarmouth with the potential for some work from home, this person will need to manage entire projects relating to the construction and commissioning of Wind Farms.

The role requires the following skills:

  • Strong Project Management Ability
  • HV Electrical Engineering Experience
  • Construction Experience
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for the entire project.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent computing skills including MS Office, MS Project and CAD packages
Additional Skills which would be an advantage are :
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in the Wind Farm Industry
